Thursday, July 30, 2009 Y 12:48 AM A really quick update before i finish packing for the camp and sleep. haha. Well its not really a camp more like an orientation week thingy. So anyhoo, went down to NUS to register, collect our student card, ez link and submit our forms. Once more i have an ugly photo for my card. ugh. Oh but how exciting today was!!!
It started with Faj driving us (ting, Marrissa and I) to NUS. I can't believe I've reached a stage where my friends can drive around. WOHOO!!! So anyways when I got my card I felt finally like I was an official NUS student! It felt awesome! So anyhoo we headed to the cca fair. well we were separated anyways. I stuck with Faj who knew so many people from the camp. Signed up for a few CCAs. and then we headed to Ion. Faj's driving is really ok. But i guess her only problem is navigating around Spore. I mean all new drivers would have the same problem so no worries ok faj! you did awesome! Walked around Ion. blah blah blah. And went home to start packing and finalising the modules I wanted. Initially i wanted to go down to NUS but woke up late and I was just so tired. Since they had a live video streaming of the talks, why not right? thank god for technology!

Met up with babes [all with the exception of Sak who has school ): ] We had brunch at Swensens United Square before heading to Udders. Swensens meal was definitely worth my money. I have no idea how they are able to sustain the 1 for 1 deal. They're prolly making their profits from quantity of people going there instead of the usual inflow of people. Smart. We decided not to have desert there and try Udders since all of us have yet to try the ice cream there. The flavours offered were kinda novel so i guess its cool. During our meet up, there was a lot of cam whoring, talking bout uni, talking about our future and love, shows, ghost stories etc. Ack! The ghost stories are freaky shit! I told all my siblings about the Keropok Lady. They're all paranoid now and so am I. Silly me did more research and that made me more terrified of this supposed keropok lady. I usually don't believe in such stories, but i have no idea why I'm scared by this particular tale. anyhoo: I LOVE Y'ALL GIRLS!
I had to pass bracelets to someone who had ordered them from the carnival so we headed to Dhoby Ghaut to pass them to her. She was however 30 mins late!! how rude right. Thank god for jasvin and drina who stayed with me or i would have been bored to death! granted the girl was apologetic, but seriously?! half an hour?? and she kept lying about her location which was irritating. jas who i recently discovered, loves pressuring people (for fun) then called her and chided her for me, and I'm kinda grateful for that. I guess I don't really like confrontations. So anyhoo we waited and waited and when she finally arrived 30 mins later, i passed the bracelets to her and hurried with Jas to Orchard to grab some stationery for school while Drina headed for cheer training. I didn't get stationery cuz Jas wasn't too thrilled bout Muji and I wanted to go with someone who'd have fun choosing them with me. kinda irrational, but still. haha. sorry Jas. (: Ps: does anyone know a good fabric shop. preferably a place with different prints, textures etc? I'm looking for a beret kinda material cloth. My mom watched an episode of Martha steward and they taught viewers how to make a beret. I want one and she needs someone to make it for. Win win :D When I got home, a whole different event happened. Called anje at night to tell her and msn-ed the rest. (jas and sak weren't online so I'll tell y'all another day ok *winks*) Ugh so disturbing. ps to you girls don't tag abt the issue ok. hahahah. its kinda not out in the open. yet. Thursday, July 23, 2009 Y 1:23 AM Just spent the past 3 hours making chunky beaded bracelets cuz I've been putting off making them (carnival orders!) (yes i know its a little long)
So anyhoo spent the day with Jasvin (: We first headed to Chinatown Centre to grab some of the stuff i needed for making the items. We then moved to Starbucks SSC to make them. Jas was a great help! Thank you so much Jas (: We both bought the same drink- Caramel Frap with coffee Jelly. aahhaa. nice. hers was without the whipped cream though :P. At around 7 we left for some shopping and Daiso. She bought 2 dresses from Cotton on. I really really really wanted to get this dress which was on sale but i managed to stop myself. It feels good to be able to resist. but it really sucks to give up on a great deal!! ugh. when we went to Daiso, she was amazed, as was I, initially with the prices and the variety of stuff you could get from Daiso. Amazing right! We parted ways at around 8. Thank you so much dear for helping me. It was so fun. esp our little failed experiment with the iced water :P Meeting up with the rest of the gang tmr, oh wait today. Can't wait. I think Jody might join us too. not too sure though. :) nights :) Sunday, July 19, 2009 Y 10:08 PM Being unappreciated is the worst feeling in the world and i wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy in the world (ok i may. but only for my worst-est enemy. (yes i know the word worst-est doesn't exist. and yes i was kidding.)
I hate not having a maid. Its hasn't even been a week but i hate it so so so much. I mean just because I'm the one thats not schooling at the moment makes me the family's mule?? "Nadia take this." "Nadia cut this." "Nadia could you vacuum the house?" Goddamn it! I am not the freaking maid! There are 4 other children in the bloody house! ugh. I can't wait to start school. I wouldn't have to do much anymore. So anyhoo, met up with Jon and HG yesterday. I love love love chilling with them. Hanging out with them is a whole lot different then when I'm with the girls. Its good different. So surprisingly I was the earliest. (cuz usually when I'm with them I'm not the earliest, Jon is.) Left home too early, desperately needed to escape from the chores. So while waiting for them at Vivo, I headed to Candy Empire. Got some stuff and then met them at Breeks, Habourfront. I had the Caesar Salad with Sliced Mushrooms. No its not a pathetic dieting tactic, I had lunched at home alr. The mushrooms were raw but unexpectedly good. We went back to Vivo and went walking around. Gawd it was horrid knowing i couldn't buy anything. I am proud to say that i didn't succumb to temptation. I even resisted buying Jibbitz at the Crocs store, which was particularly hard. Walked, talked, laughed,shopped (well HG did anyways). Ended with coffee at Starbucks as usual. Went to register for Oweek with Ting today. I cant wait!!! Its gonna be so much fun! So after registering, we headed to the food court at Marina Square for lunch. Then came the bad part.... Shopping. It started with the Crocs store where i bought more jibbitz. My crocs are so pretty now!!! I love them so much. My love for crocs is as illogical as me reading the Twilight Series 4 times. I know it doest make much, or to some ppl -any sense, but its love, what more can i say.  Look at my pretty pretty Crocs. I LOVE JIBBITZS!!! It started at Crocs. Then we went to Dorothy Perkins where they were having this awesome sale. I got this floral dress at $29! What a steal! I also purchased what i call lazy pants, they're actually called Hareem Pants, at $23. Super good deal. I know. Ting lent me her Fashion Forward discount card which lowered the total cost to $46 only!!! how awesome! We headed to Zara next where i spent again! But this time Ting also got a pair of uber cute wedges!!! i would've gotten the same pair if i hadn't decided to get a pretty dress with pockets for $30 and a pair of shorts at $30 too. I really really wanted to get the wedges though. I'm even contemplating going back. though i know i should stay away. far far far away. We then visited Hula and Co. i almost bought more dresses but rationalised. Ting bought this adorable dress that would go so well with snickers. We walked around a little more before heading home. When i got home i sorted my purchases that i have been accumulating for the past month or so that i haven't even started using. And it is scary. There are shopping bags piling up and its horrid! I feel so guilty looking at them, knowing that i should've exercised more restraint but didn't. *bows head in guilt and shame*  When i first accumulated my purchases.  A little neater. just a wee bit neater. On one hand I feel so happy with my purchases cuz they're all terrific deals and look great. Plus I'll need more clothes for uni right? and I'm helping the economy rebuild, no matter how small my contribution is compared to the multi billion other companies are spending. ugh what a weak point. i disgust myself. lol. On the other hand, I shouldn't be spending so much, considering that i should be saving up for difficult times (touch wood) and i shouldn't have bought so much clothes. So now I'm in between feeling upset and delirious. i know i don't make much sense now but its true. its like a 50-50 thing. I cant feel upset cuz they're awesome buys but i cant feel too happy cuz I've been spending my dad's money. So how? I shall not buy anymore clothes for the next month. Thanks ting for the tips. hahaha. I shall try to not spend. Scratch that. I WILL NOT SPEND! So you guy, if i don't shop its not cuz i don't want to. I really do, but the temptation's too much. hahahha. sorry.  Labels: My thoughts Wednesday, July 15, 2009 Y 9:04 PM Aww my maid has left us for good. It is only now that i truly appreciate her. Seriously. She finally decided to go back to her family after giving us 4 years of her service. I miss her. Hmm i don't know whether i miss having the choice to ask her to help me do stuff or i actually miss her. I think i really actually miss her.
Anyhoo i went to Orchard with my mom yesterday to do some shopping. We bought a wallet for my maid from Tangs. We had a farewell dinner for my maid yesterday evening. My sis bought an Oreo Cheesecake which was yummy! :) This morn when i was sending her off, I felt sad having to say goodbye to her, forever. Firstly cuz I'm not good with goodbyes. Secondly, my tear glands have a mind of their own so i always look like a crybaby la. She asked my mom to send an invitation if Natasha gets married. LOL! I think Natasha will even send her an airline ticket, that is if she ever gets married. (she has marriage phobia) I'm happy for my maid that she would be reunited with her children. My mom gave them some brand new toys and my dad gave them $50 (the kids). My mom also gave her a bunch of stuff, including a rice cooker, which resulted in her luggage weighing 45kg in total. We paid for the excess baggage tax and had a short but sweet goodbye. My mother ,who i think is the closest with her, was brave and did not shed much tears, surprisingly. So anyhoo cant wait for Oweek!!! Hopefully i get to be in the same grp as at least someone i know *crosses fingers* Labels: Family, Results/Uni Monday, July 13, 2009 Y 10:25 PM Despite my initial hesitation, i decided to watch True Blood. Yes, the shows a little pervy but i skipped the awkward sex scenes and voila you get a pretty darn good show.
I've had my reservations about the show especially after JE (who interned at HBO told me about the show) but the raving reviews of True Blood on ONTD were so so tempting. So i man-ed up (so to speak) and watched Season 1. and i must say that it was surprisingly ok. I couldn't help noticing that there were many striking similarities between Twilight and True Blood. Don't get me wrong they are ENTIRELY different and no one in the right mind can mistake the two but there were some similarities that were hard to avoid -like the fact that a human girl (ie:Bella vs Sookie) loves a vampire that is so gentlemanly and hates being a monster(ie:Edward vs Bill). and the fact that she has another love interest, who happens to be a shape shifter (ie:Jacob vs Sam) plus there are people out there out to kill her. But i MUST emphasise that they are way different in their own way. Just rmb to skip/fast forward through the love scenes. ugh. puke inducing. (cuz i went to NUS where they have quite a number of students with h1n1. so anyhoo, i don't think that i have it because i'm feeling much better now.
So Thurs was fantastic! We (Jas, Drina, Faj and I) surprised Anje and saw her in a towel. hahaha. Joi Joi was barking like a crazy bitch (no pun intended) when we arrived. i really really dislike joi joi. don't get me wrong, i like dogs. just not crazy ones. sorry anje. i like nice tame ones like zsa zsa. hahaha. Anje's maid was nice enough to entertain my many phone calls to Anje's home cuz i was afraid tt she would have left home for the fake location we gave her. (i had to check many time cuz drina woke up late.) ahaha. but thank gawd for Anje's oversleeping habit. When we got there her maid locked Joi joi in the room so that we could enter. I think anje's grandma did give us out a bit when she told anje to hurry out of the toilet cuz they had guests. lol. but i think anje didn't think that it would be us, if she did she'd be an oscar award winning actress. When she opened the door to her room and saw us she was like "WHAT!!" ahahahaha. we were like "SURPRISE!!!!" blah blah blah....summarised version: Anje loved the bikini and teared even more when she read the card. aww darl hope you had a fun time! We also had kopi with Miss Su. and its quite nice I must say, yes against what you people might say. Shes really a harmless lady with a heart. Friday was spent mourning on my bed as i was having a burning fever. Sat was interesting. Spent the day at Takashimaya's Desa Kartika Indonesian Restaurant for my cousin's wedding. I wanted to wear my super cute gold dress but my mom said that i should wear a baju kurung cuz there would be many many older aunties and uncles. I gave in. ): Boy was i disappointed by the restaurant. The service was below average, food sucked- both in terms of quality and quantity. yucks. do not visit that place. ever! best part- the bride and groom got hungry they dined at the restaurant next door, Breeks. But overall it was ok. :) Will update soonish! :) Ps HAPPY (BELATED) BIRTHDAY ESTHER CHAN!! love ya dear! hope you liked the present and the accompanying "card" *winks* Tuesday, July 7, 2009 Y 11:38 PM Finally went for my med checkup at NUS. I seriously need to find out how to get to specific buildings in NUS. I couldn't be bothered to look at the bus routes at Clementi so i cabbed to the medical centre from Clementi mrt station. which kinda posed a problem since neither the cabby nor i knew where the place was. lol. The cabby was patient enough to drive slowly for me to scan the area and pick out the building.
While waiting for Faj to arrive, i sat at the bus-stop right outside the UHC building and started looking at what would be my future. when reality sunk in and i came to terms that i would actually be studying there, i started grinning like a loopy girl. seriously. but it felt great to know that i would be going to NUS pretty soon. (: The medical checkup was a series of awkward stations, the gross-est being the urine test. ugh i shall not mention more. So after the whole fiasco (ok ok, so fiasco is an exaggerated term) Faj and I headed to Vivo for present hunting. hahahaha. I seriously hate buying presents. it makes me have a headache. but the sense of accomplishment after buying the gifts is always a redeeming point. We searched for the perfect gift for hours before deciding on the perfect gift. Faj also filled me in about the FASS camp and boy i was so envious. really should have gone lah!!!! I also bought jibbitzs from the Crocs outlet at Vivo. *grins happily* I can't wait to wear my newly adorned Crocs. I had to rush to City Hall afterward to meet my sec school clique. They had dinner at Out of the Pan. and since i was still bloated form the meal with Faj at Vivo, i didn't eat (plus i wasnt sure if the place was halal. lol) So as they ate, we chatted and i drank my Mocha drink. Sat for hours just talking bout rubbish and all that. Love it!! So here i am doing a proper update after not updating properly for days. Ps cried again today while reading the beginning of Breaking Dawn. Im finishing it in an hour or two more so will update again then. Friday, July 3, 2009 Y 6:04 PM Started panicking when i got home yesterday because of the sheer number of things i had to complete. Plus at that point of time, i hadn't organised them into a list so everything kept bugging me simultaneously. So when i got home after spending the day chilling with Anje at Starbucks, (though half the time she wasn't there!) I took a bath and immediately made a list of things that i had to complete. I'm kinda a list person. I have no idea why, but every time I have a lot of things to do, i keep procrastinating them to a point where i feel so overwhelmed. Ugh. Nasty habit, I know. (if you want to know the reason why I was procrastinating is because I started re-reading the Twilight Series and once I start, its really hard to stop.)
But I prioritised, made the list and completed some of the things I had to do. So i kinda feel way relieved. phew! *wipes off a bead of sweat from my forehead (: * Still have a ton of stuff to complete asap. ): So i should stop procrastinating and start doing. (: Au Revoir! I am at Starbucks now and Anjelina Choo Yeng Yeng, you are so dead! Its 3 and she's still not here yet! We agreed to meet at 2 lah! argh. So here I am sitting with the laptop waiting for her to come. Thank god i brought along New Moon which I am reading for the 4th time. And i still cry. how loserish right. Hmm i have no idea why i like the series so much. i guess its my guilty pleasure, book wise. :) Update: 3.30, still no sign of her yet. UPDATE: Anje's finally here again after coming and going (for tuitioning) and coming back again. Ps: I keep taking gorgeous pics (ie:she looks great in the photos. its not those artistic shots.
