Tuesday, June 30, 2009 Y 7:13 PM Yes! i got into NUS LPP (language preparation programme)!!! Wohoo! At first when Ann texted me, asking if i was admitted into the programme, i was a bit nervous about checking my mail. Then she told me that she wasn't successful in her application and i was like darn it i got no hope ready. To my amazement, when i checked my mail i was accepted! like how sweet is that! Hmm i guess Ann didn't get through cuz she applied for the Korean prog, which naturally is more competitive cuz its the hip and cool lang to know. Im so sorry Ann. I really wish that you would have gotten into the programme too. that would be great.
So anyhoo I am SUPER PSYCHED! Cant wait to start school. And in 2-3 years I'll be in Germany for a semester or so. I guess this year has been wonderful on me in terms of my school choices etc. I guess this is how it feels to get what you want. and it feels awesome! Hey Anje, meet me soon for the blogskin thing ok darl. :) Labels: Results/Uni Saturday, June 27, 2009 Y 11:18 PM Quick update again. sorry. I'm exhausted from the guides carnival today. AND im sorting out the beads now. again. After sitting in a chair like a frigging factory worker making non stop beading items for 7 hours. SERIOUSLY! Im going nuts from all the beading. but experiencing today plus cleaning up the guide house after the whole event made me feel like an actual guide again. We were the only school that stayed back to help to clean and clear the whole guide house besides the YAs. How nice we are. (:
Ooh ooh guess what? we made $640!!! LIKE HOLY MOLY!!! HOW AWESOME!!! we spent less then 100 bucks but gained 6 times profit!!!!! I LOVE LOVE LOVE it! Will update fully tmr (: Labels: Guides Friday, June 26, 2009 Y 1:29 PM Goodbye Michael Jackson, King of Pop.
Goodbye Farrah Fawcett, a third of the original Charlie's Angels Gang. You will be missed MJ. Labels: Celeb News. Tuesday, June 23, 2009 Y 10:18 PM Met up with the babes AGAIN! hahaha. This time was so much better cuz all of us came. But before I met them i went for guides. They were doing outdoor cooking and It was nice to see the whole company again. Hmm the sec 4s should really start to let go and let the sec 3s take over. The sec 3s are not able to command the respect and attention of the company yet and POP is on Thurs! How scary is that?? But i guess its common to worry bout the younger and upcoming batch.
So anyhoo, I met up with Jasvin at Yishun to bus together to Changi, to send off Drina. I tell you that girl is a damn lucky girl! She flew off (AGAIN), this time to Bangkok. I am so envious of that jet setter lah! Ooh ooh, Anje postponed one of her tutoring sessions, after much persuasion, to stay with us longer. (: Drina had a cozy send off, all of us except for Sak who came later after school. (: While waiting for Sak, we lunched and i finally got to try the famous mash potatoes from Popeye's and its GOOD!!! hahaha. Ate and chatted bout stuff. Its cool how we can talk non stop lah. these girls really are fantastic! After Sak came we walked around T3 and then finally decided to watch planes take off and chat there. Plus we saw Dora and her monkey friend, kids and a whole lot of crocs!!! I LOVE LOVE LOVE CROCS!!! We chatted bout love and other awkward stuff too weird to blog bout *grins cheekily* heheheeh I also went to pick up my f21 items from Sze Hui in the evening (: So cheap lah!!! Me likes (: Oh and Fathers day was nice too. I made a super pretty card *beams shamelessly* Saturday, June 20, 2009 Y 1:47 PM Ok. My feet are well rested now so I can blog in peace. Met up with the babes yst minus Jas and Sak cuz Jas's in M'sia and Sak's working.): So anyhoo we went shopping! Mango was having this ginornous sale that everyone must go to. I got this wallet for 19 from 50. can you say AWESOME! Faj and Drina bought stuff but i didn't buy too much cuz I've been spending a lot. We had a coffee break at Starbucks before heading to Far East. I was, as usual, reluctant and complaining bout going there but Faj managed to shut me up. hahahah. We walked around looking for bags for Drina who wanted a small sling bag. Dinner was cheap at one of the stalls on the top level of Far East. nothing fantastic but ok la. Shopped more and finally left at around 10.
I love those girls simply cuz they're a great bunch to hang around with. No pressure, no tension just fun fun fun. Love yall! :) <3 Y 12:37 AM My feet is aching like a bitch. seriously. after walking around in heels, well technically in wedges, for about 9 hours! will update tmr cuz i'm too tired to blog now. haha.
Thursday, June 18, 2009 Y 10:57 PM DO NOT WATCH DRAG ME TO HELL! It is the lamest, most stupidest movie ever! EVER! Seriously! So in case you're still confused, i managed to catch the movie in the evening with my siblings minus Najib. We honestly thought that it would be an ok movie but it sucked. real bad. I mean it could join the ranks of the Scary Movie series. ugh. ugh. ugh. I felt so cheated!!!! terrible plot and plain gross effects. Couldn't believe Sam Raimi, director of the Spiderman Movie Series, did that piece of crap. I guess we all make mistakes huh.
Tuesday, June 16, 2009 Y 12:40 PM Beading is taking up A LOT of my time and I'm so sorry to my friends for cancelling on y'all but i really have to. The guide carnival is coming up really soon ( 0n the 27th) so we really need to speed things up and have so many more bracelets/pendents/mobile phone straps/necklaces to complete.
I met up with the 5 of them (my guides juniors) to buy more beads/crystals/strings etc at Chinatown. When we were done I had to head to Changi to send my uncle off and they wanted a change of location to do the beading. I swear i asked them a million times if they wanted to do it at any other place then i would meet them there but they said that they wanted to go there, so we did. We lunched at Popeye's and i really don't think its any great. Maybe the sides were slightly different from the usual fast food chains but the chicken did not live up to my expectations. from the way my siblings and friends were raving about the place, i was expecting to be wowed. but i wouldn't have known if i didn't try so there's that. Anyhoo, while doing the bracelets, they talked about guides, Korean shows and YT. Sometime when I'm with them i wish to go back to the times where i was carefree but other times i feel like hiding my face in a plastic bag when they start to do embarrassing things like giggle ultra loudly and other lame stuff 14 year olds do. (but i still like them a lot) I shared with them some stories about guides and sec school life. They did too. Hmm found out more about the current company from the sec 2s perspective. interesting. ooh ooh ooh and i must declare my love for terminal 3. Awesome! I'm starting to get a flu which is scary because of H1N1 but my sister already had the flu and i accidentally shared a drink with her the other day. ugh will check it out in any case. just to be sure. will keep updating (: Labels: Guides Monday, June 15, 2009 Y 12:48 AM I went shopping AGAIN! hahaha.
I woke up from sleep at 6 plus and couldn't fall asleep again so i went for a run. I wanted to run with my mom who always jogs in the morn but by the time I was dressed and ready, she was already done, so i went on my own. Hmm. this was a change from my usual run in the evening. I noticed a major difference. In the morning, there are way more older people walking/jogging and in the evening more youngsters. I like running in the morning better though. The air feels fresher, not humid at all, cooling and no pressure to keep up with the other youths. lol. But the downside is that since i usually sleep late, I can't wake up in the morn. I hate this kind of situations that require me to make decisions cuz I'm quite a fickle person. Ugh. After the run, I bathed and waited for my mom and siblings to go to Giant for our monthly grocery shooping at Giant Sembawang. Grocery shopping is usually an embarrassing event cuz our trolley would be overspilling and it honestly looks like a mountain lah! people will stare and make stupid comments like: " Wah shopping for the whole year is it!" like hello we have 5 kids, 2 parents, a maid and an uncle! its a huge family, i know. Then at around 5, me, mom and Natasha (my elder sis) went shopping. We headed to Robinsons cuz they're absorbing the GST for a 3 day sale (in addition to their sale which has discounts up to 70%) and today was the last day. I got this gorgeous laptop bag from Charis Asher at a steal! ![]() - Large tote with double handles - Zip-top closure - Detachable sling - Twin side pockets - Silver hardware details - Purple soft leather with darker purple leather trimming - Cotton Linning - Fits 14" - 15.4" Laptops - Elastic velcro strap to securely keep laptop in place - Stationaries, PDA, cell phone and laptop compartments - 41cm X 42cm X 9.5cm - Price : US$ 79.90 Guess how much i got it for?? $70!!!! How awesome was that!! I love love love love it!!!! i also bought a dress and a top and some boy cut Pierre Cardin undies (they're my fav!) My sis bought a pair of Steve Madden heels. (She's seriously one of those shoe addicts) (ooh and a shoe snob too!- she claims that she would never ever be caught dead wearing Crocs and always always criticises my Crocs. Whatever. I adore Crocs!) plus Tommy Hilfiger's Tommy Girl that came with a super cute Tommy H. tote! I want!!! So now I'm tired shit and I'm gonna crash. have to go to Chinatown tmr to get more beading stuff for my guide juniors. darn it. Friday, June 12, 2009 Y 11:26 PM Nothing beats the feeling of shopping and knowing you got a damn good deal. [Hmm. not really though. taking a cold bath on a freaking hot day is cool too. (no pun intended) Another good rival is getting rewarded and acknowledgement for your hard work. ok, ok i know i digressed a lot. lol. so back to the original topic: Shopping. I honestly love shopping. the thrill of getting a dress or any other item that looks good. trying out things that you may never buy but trying it anyways for the fun of it. Plus the GSS gives the greatest excuse to spend!!!
Anyhoo, I met up with Jon and HG in the afternoon and we went shopping at a place i never thought of to go shopping- IMM. Yes I know its weird to shop there but i was pleasantly surprised to find that it was a secretly good place to go to. There was a FOS outlet which i never knew existed in Singapore and Esprit's factory outlet's there too. (though there aren't that many nice stuff there.) Fox's sale was amazing too. managed to get some nice tops dirt cheap during the sale. The guys tried out stuff too and they looked great. Damn NS! i want to drop pounds too like nobody's business lah! After shopping, i was super late to meet the girls. I was supposed to meet them at 7 at Safra but i only left Jurong at 7 lah!! hahahaha. sorry. shopping is like a drug. so hard to stop. Dinner with them was as expected, nothing short of hilarious. Every time I'm with them my cheeks hurt from laughing too hard and too much. When you see us, you would never imagine that the 7 (though Tab couldn't make it today. She had a last min family thing to attend to :( ) of us can click so well. Seriously. but its the diversity that makes it such a fun and exciting group to be in. Had dinner at Swensons Yishun (which is weird cuz we have never dined in Yishun before, though most of us live in Yishun) Frankly I'm kinda sick of Swensons already. Ate there 3 times in the past month. need more suggestions for Halal places. pictures will be up soon (: till then I am going to crash from fatigue. hahahahhaha. Au revoir! (: ooh also: HAPPY 19TH NAFE! UPDATE: I bought for Najib (the older one of my 2 brothers) a tee from Gap that says Hockey. I was taken aback by 2 things that he did. 1) While shopping I called him incessantly but he didnt pick up. When he finally called back, this was how the convo went something like this: Me; Hey you! called you a million times! why didn't you pick up?? Him: Sorry my phone bat is running low. Me: Don't lie ar! Him: Really! Me: Sure. sure. Anyways I bought for you a hockey tee from Gap. Him: really? ex or not? Me: very cheap. its from FOS. Good right! but I'm scared you can't fit (he has broad shoulders) Him: Wah not bad. Me: Ya I know right! didn't know there was an FOS in s'pore too. Him: No lah not the shirt. you! you not bad. Me: (touched alr cuz this would be considered damn mushy for him) hahaha. ok. see you later! 2) When he tried out the tee and it fit, he actually hugged me and thanked me for it. I was like WHOA! seriously?! a hug coming from him? lol. But it was a sweet gesture that i will always remember. Labels: Babes, Family, Shopping, Two guys and a Girl (in a good way :P ) Thursday, June 11, 2009 Y 3:46 PM I WILL NEVER EVER EVER GO SWIMMING IN THE MORNING EVER AGAIN!
Ugh. went swimming at around 10 with my mom, maid and 2 youngest siblings. It was fun i guess but when i went to shower, the tan line on my thigh was effing AWFUL! There's a distinct line that makes me feel like singing MJ's Black and White. like literally. i am not effing exaggerating. its that god damn awful and i wanted to cry! ugh! Anyhoo we had a satisfying lunch and bought ice cream to eat on the way home. Today would have been genuinely great if not for the FUGLY tan line. Wednesday, June 10, 2009 Y 8:53 PM My sec 2 guide juniors are hilarious and adorable. Met up with them to do the beads. Gosh days are passing by so quickly. They have to make tons of beaded jewelery by the 27th of this month for the guides carnival! but they are progressing and making pretty stuff so i guess that's all i can ask for :) Anje and Anne also came along later in the afternoon. and then it became chaotic because i had to teach 5 people how to do and they were all like "Mam" at the same time. yes, i know its super weird that they call me Mam but I've given up on telling them to stop it cuz they say its just too weird to call me Nadia. So we sat at Starbucks throughout the time doing the beads. The Starbucks staff were all very amiable and kept asking us about the items we were making. (: they gave us inputs too like how much they would pay for the bracelets and phone straps and pendents etc. Plus one of them kept asking if we wanted iced water. (: And i think i was extra clumsy today. spilled me beads twice! and it was a lot of beads! We picked up most of them but obviously there were strays that were just easier to leave on the floor. lol. Talking to them bout the gossips within the company was interesting too. hehehehe. will upload the pics later (:
PS: Sorry Anje for making you bring your laptop. Thought that we could do the blog skin stuff but they really needed me. We will meet again soon ok. and you will have my undivided attention. PPS: your handmade earrings and bracelet are gorgeous! great job! Monday, June 8, 2009 Y 8:04 PM I re-watched the Twilight movie yesterday which inspired this post. This is the list of dream guys that only exist in books or movies. ):
Top 10 dream guys: (I don't think they are in any particular order though) 1. (of course) Edward Cullen ![]() Not really the Edward I was looking for but he'll do (: I mean who wouldn't want an Edward Cullen (emphasis that the Edward I am referring to is from the book!) except for straight guys that is (: He's beautiful, intelligent, hot, kind, sensitive, not very egoistic, and basically everything a girl could ever want. What more can I say? ahh. sighs dreamily. 2. Jacob Black ![]() Hotness Monster Like hello if Edward deserves to be on my list then bloody Jacob damn well too. Boy did he steal my heart in New Moon and Eclipse with the dedication and sincerity for his love for Bella. To know that you'll always be second to her first love who she cannot get over yet still choosing to stick with her and mend her smashed heart. And even after all that heartache, she still chooses the other guy. God damn it I want my Jacob now. (though it was kinda awkward when Renesmee came along and he fell for her instead. talk about paedophilic projections onto a character! lol) Anyhoo I like both the character Jacob and Taylor Lautner! (: 3. Noah Calhoun ![]() Sweet Noah (; He's the guy from The Notebook in case you were wondering. My my my, what can i say. He is one of the sweetest guys i have ever known. To fight for the girl you love and not abandon her when she needs you the most. His wife had Alzheimer's and he would remind her everyday till she remembered despite the heartache of having to remind your love of your life that she was your love every single day. Such devotion. 4. Gerry Clarke Ah! He's from one of the best-est and saddest books I've read- Ps I love you. A guy thinking of his wife's future when he is dying. Can you say true love? cuz that was what it was. Imaging having to help your wife get over you. He wrote a list of things she had to do every month for the first year after he passed. And the last note was asking her to find another guy that loves her and she loves back. Cried my eyes out while reading this book. Tell me what guy will ask his wife to find another man. Hmm maybe I'm generalising too much. There are still those rare good one out there if you search hard enough (: hopefully. 5. Chuck Bass ![]() Mother Chucker :) Every girl has a weakness for bad boys. Naomi fell for Liam in 90210 and there are countless of other examples. So my list has to have at least a bad boy so i chose Chuck from Gossip Girl. The sick relationship he initially had with Blair slowly blossomed into one of the greatest TV love I've watched. The brooding, seemingly soulless boy that actually has a heart and loves someone. Plus he is so hot! With his tortured past, what girl can say no to him. 6. Daniel Meade ![]() Betty! The bad boy gone good after meeting the illusive One. Granted it took a lot of work from Betty (from ugly betty. SHE IS NOT HIS LOVE! just a very dedicated assistant.) to change him over the years but the transformation was perfect. He's hot. Not that intelligent (heheheheheheh) and absolutely doting to his terminally ill wife. How unselfish. To love and marry someone you love who you know is going to die soon and hence practically guaranteeing yourself a lot of heart pain but doing it to give her the best darn last months y'all will ever have together. 7. Jack Dawson ![]() He is so good looking!!! The ultimate love story- Titanic. Also the classic forbidden love. He won Rose's heart with his dashing good looks (so cute!) and his boy next door demeanour. like hello! like you could ever resist. He makes you feel like you're the only girl in the world to him and charms his way into your life before you know it, you're risking your life for him. touching and something i would like to call a "fools rush in" moment. Fools as in people who are desperately in love cuz seriously that's what happens when you first fall in love, or so I've heard. You go all giddy that dying in the place of someone you love seems worth it. I mean i don't condone silly lovey dovey things like getting a tattoo of the person's name on your body but when you watch Titanic, you will forget all that and root for Rose and Jack. The power of Hollywood. Hahahaha. thought i would say love didn't cha! :P 8. Michael Scofield ![]() Yummy! The perfect man. Seriously. Brawns and brains with loyalty. could you ask for more? He busted his ass to save his brother, getting himself into a shitload of trouble. Then when he fell in love with Sarah, his started to feel guilty for using her initially. Aiyoh. how adorable. a torn guy. the botak head was a plus cuz he looks so yummy bald! (: i know you're thinking it. 9. Freddie ![]() He's British girls! You gotta love the accent! Hahaha. This is my impulse addition because I just watched the movie Wild Child and all I can say is he's British. and cute. (: So he is on my list (: 10. Edward Lewis ![]() Its so unfair that he looks hot at 40! ): Richard Gere from Pretty woman was a hot older rich man. He was also weird, hiring a hooker to accompany him for the night but hey, he met the woman of his dreams. Yes she is a hooker but you cant choose who you love and hookers also deserve to find their ones what. who are we to judge right. Julia Roberts as Vivian Ward was so uber lucky to have found a sweet handsome rich guy that loves her back. I am jealous of a hooker who doesn't exist. how loser-ish have I become. LOL. I realise that my dream guys are all fictitious characters but i guess you can only find good guys in dreamland right. Yes i know certain people are lucky enough to find their true love. If only everyone were to be so fortunate as to find their love, there wouldn't be so much hate in the world. Cliched i know but i honestly believe so. Feel free to comment or give suggestions. Ps should i do lists posts. i think they're fun but boy do they take ages to complete.(: hope you enjoyed my two cents worth (: Au revoir! Labels: Lists, Midnight post, My thoughts Sunday, June 7, 2009 Y 6:36 PM I feel like an effing pig. haha. Had lunch with the family at Swensons earlier today. As usual an outing with the family meant loads of bickering, yelling and water spilling everywhere. I honestly think that my family is so similar to the characters in the show Brothers and Sisters. like there are so many undeniable similaries its uncanny.
Lunch was okay. We ordered food like nobody's business. ooh ooh and an ex guide junior of mine was working there at that point of time which made it kinda awkward for her to serve us. lol. but it was nice to see her though. I had seafood lasagna and i think i like it a lot prolly cuz of the creamy spinach sauce. I was also supposed to share my apple crumble with Natalia but since she had ordered her own Frosted choc malt, she struggled with it as did i. lol. after eating like a pig i couldn't move. like literally. i felt like exploding! We headed to Cold Storage for a while before heading home. I'm still feeling bloated now. i think its from drinking too much water. will laze around more. and watch Night at the Museum on Channel 5. and Harper's Island at 10.30. very interesting show. plus Henry from Ugly Betty is acting (he retains the name Henry. funny huh.) Labels: Family Saturday, June 6, 2009 Y 1:42 AM The sec 3 guides received their ranks today at the BBQ. Congrats Mandy and JH and the rest of the sec 3s. One more thing. please don't let your ranks get in the way of friendships and your passion and love for guides. applicable to the sec 2s as well.
Anyhoo the monthly Germany trip gathering was an epic disappointment. and instead of feeling upset I'm getting really pissed. i mean seriously people if y'all aren't interested to go in the first place just say so. Don't say that you are coming then back out like really last minute. it takes time planning the gatherings. don't waste our time lah. i guess the novelty wore off and suddenly everyone has stuff in their lives once more. like hello so do we but its called making time. i knew it was too good to last. i should have seen the signs. but this gathering was supposed to be different. it was suppose to be a year's anniversary gathering but in the end, the turn out was pathetic. like really pathetic. 5 people. ugh. it was suppose to be a great night but it turned out like an average meet up. dinner and a chat. Serious effort was put in. Nafe took half day leave to prepare for the gathering. totally lost mood for the gathering. and faith. i guess unknowingly i attended the last meet up. sad right. whatever. UPDATE: I applied for LLP already. Hopefully i get accepted. please. please. please. *prays* Labels: Bad Days, Germany Gang, Guides, Rant Thursday, June 4, 2009 Y 6:52 PM I didn't realise how tough teaching how to make beaded jewelery was till i tried teaching my guides juniors earlier on. I think its never been a problem for me because my mom taught me when i was younger. Now i can make them easily. (not extremely difficult ones of course!) Hmm should i start selling them? my creations? it'll be easy money if people actually buy. should I?
So anyhoo met my juniors at Starbucks Civics (since they all lived in the North) at 11 to teach them (Sidetrack: there is this junior of mine who is super irritating! Always never come when we meet up and have a lot of excuses for it! I was like whatever lah at first but now its plain free rider lah! the other girls are putting in effort to do the work but she absents herself all the time! and its not only for the beading committee. the other time when they were having promo tests and she couldn't light her fire and was down to her last match she suddenly had leg cramps! WTH right! i mean a lot of the other girls couldn't start the fire either but they didn't give up, giving flimsy excuses! ugh! i know i know its horrid to bitch bout a junior and totally unprofessional but i cant help it, i'm super pissed.) Back to beading with my juniors. they are adorable but really blur. hmm maybe i need more patience. they took some time but in the end managed to make their first crystal heart and i could tell that they were proud of themselves. hhahaha. good job girls! :) I had to leave at ard 1 plus to meet Ann for a LPP briefing at NUS. Please please please lemme get accepted by the programme. its a language preparation prog where we learn either German, French or Korean and after 2 years go for an exchange trip for about a semester to learn overseas. COOL RIGHT!! the greatest part is that all participants of this programme must have no prior knowledge of the language. this is great cuz then we wouldn't need to compete with the pros who've taken third lang since sec school! aww i really hope i get in. No prizes for guessing which language i want. Then i'll get to speak to Natalia in German. Natasha takes French so she wouldn't understand. heheehehehhe. now she would know how it feels to scold her siblings in a foreign language. After the short briefing we had a quick lunch and before rejoining my juniors. Ann came along for a while and then left. ): So anyways we completed some of the pieces they were making then left for home. ps its funny how they call me Mam when we're out. even after countless of time telling them not to. aiyoh. makes me feel ancient lah! Labels: Guides, Rant, Results/Uni Monday, June 1, 2009 Y 11:45 PM Met up with some of my council girls yst at Plaza Sing. Before meeting with the rest of the gang, ie: Rachel and Sarah Tso (twins), Api and Niki, i met JE to go together. that girl lah. made us late. but being late with her was fun. went to her place to play her Wii. I really suck at bowling! NVM. i will try harder the next time. Yap Jia En it is so on! hahahaha.
We ate dinner before walking to Orchard. The lighting at one of the newer shopping malls were awesome. JE however, left earlier (and abandoned me!) Walking with them was fun. and cooling and refreshing. it was also a change of scenery. i liked it. headed to Wisma for a little shopping before going home cuz Niki had some stuff to attend to at home. will upload the pics later on. Went to the library with my siblings today. i like borrowing during the holiday period cuz we can borrow 8 books! awesome. anyhoo, till next time, au revoir!
