Wednesday, April 29, 2009 Y 8:06 PM Good news and bad news time. Good news: Finally received the package from NUS. It seemed so surreal, like a scene from the movies when i opened it (though i knew i was accepted). lol. Bad news: while i was rollerblading at the void deck i saw Sam collecting letters from her letterbox. I knew she got her acceptance letter from WKWSCI when she grinned excitedly at me. i was super happy for her on one hand, but on the other i was disappointed that i didnt get one too. ugh! i know i sound like a spoilt brat who must get what she wants. Even i roll my eyes when i re-read my uni enteries on the blog. But wkwsci is what i've wanted from the begining. yes, yes, yes. i am grateful that i got into FASS, honestly i am, but it'll be even greater to get into WKWSCI. Silver lining: But if there's one thing i've learnt from this experience, its that i have to be patient. Some of my good friends have yet to receive their acceptance letters and i should be patient. Let the elites reject SCI then i can get my chance. haahahahah. For now i shall wait, pray and breathe. and try not to get too stressed bout my situation. (ugh seriously i should take a chill pill)
Labels: Results/Uni Tuesday, April 28, 2009 Y 10:39 PM Quick update before watching CSI. Went out with my dear babes, Jas couldn't make it though. Her poor niece, Bavleen, was sick so she had to stay home and help around. Plus Sak was schooling so that poor girl couldn't come. Y'all are missed dears. So anyhoo, i met Andrina at AMK before MRT-ing to City Hall. We alighted and headed to Raffles City cuz i needed coffee and Drina needed to go to the toilet. LOL. Since it was pouring, i decided to get a hot caramel macchiato from Starbucks.
We then met Faj at Bugis and had a quick bite at Macs before heading to Haji lane. We didn't see anything interesting enough so we decided to go to F21 in Vivo. I wanted to get a pair of skinny jeans but i wanted it in black and grey so i decided to wait till i visited the Wisma branch. Faj tried out this maxi tube dress and she looked stunning i tell you! absolutely gorgeous! Drina got a pair of jeans and a bag for her upcoming trip. We stopped by Candy Empire too. Faj then left for driving and me and Drina met Anje at F21 Wisma. Anje got the same pair of jeans Drina got and additional tank tops. Then Anje also left for driving. They'll prolly meet each other at driving school. Lol. After Anje went off, I accompanied Drina to change the money for her trip. She withdrew $2000!!! I felt so paranoid for a moment that someone might snatch the cash. Went to Lucky plaza then to change the money. There were so many money changers around, i think they have to compete competitively. Though they advertised a higher exchange rate, don't be afraid to haggle. We managed to get good exchange rates! The best rates compared to the money changer her mom went to and the one in Vivo. I felt so excited changing money by myself for the first time cuz for all my trips, my dear mother has been doing it for me (: Aww man! We should totally have an overseas trip together girls! We headed home at around 8 plus and bounced from Orchard. On our way home me and Drina talked bout her preparations for the trip. Have a safe and happy trip dear! I'll miss you loads! PS: I cant wait to go for my next holiday now. Damn it. And yes, i know CSI has started. I am multitasking (: Y 12:32 AM OMG OMG OMG!!!! I GOT ACCEPTED TO NUS FASS!!!!! HOLY SHIT!!! Labels: Results/Uni Sunday, April 26, 2009 Y 2:15 PM Had a great day yst! It started with meeting up with a few of the Germany Trip ppl- Nafe, Nic, Cass, MJ, Candice. They took ages to decide a place to eat and finally settled on Subway. I didn't eat though. firstly cuz its not halal ): and also because i had eaten at home before meeting them. We headed to Safra for bowling but had to wait for about 45 mins before any lane was free. Meanwhile we played with Casse's cool SLR and chatted bout school etc. When we finally got to play, the fun began! I had my first 2 strikes just one short of a turkey before lady luck turned its back on me. lol. the others didn't believe how noob i was till after i ran out of luck and played horribly hhahaha. Sarah then met us while . Sorry dear for being kinda harsh in the morn. ppl were pulling out last min and it was pissing me off. Unfortunately, I had to leave after one game to catch a movie with my clique from sec school. Sorry you guys.
So i met Caroline and OQX at Yishun MRT before heading to Boon Lay's JP to catch 17 again. But because we missed the timing, we watched Taken instead. Totally action packed and a lot of killing involved. Throughout the whole movie i kept feeling sorry for Liam because his real wife just died bout a month ago during a skiing trip accident. Anyhoo, the movie was ok though. We then had dinner at Thai express. the food was decent enough but sadly, the Tom Yam soup was very lemony- hence, overpowering the Tom Yam taste. I had Green curry Chicken which was yummy. not too spicy, not mild either. After dinner we decided to go to Hagen Daz for chocolate fondue. A little pricey at 52 but it was not tt bad. As expected, the ice cream was good! Chatted about YT and bitched about teachers we had in the past. hahahhhahha. Aww i miss goofing with them. Esp given the diversity in the gang. On the long ride home we chatted about how we were all initially afraid of OQX. Man tt girl has changed for the better yet retained her feistiness and her spirit that we all love. Esther and Oqx followed me to get a Zinger burger at NP for my lil sis. We were chatting at the bus interchange while waiting for Esther's bus to arrive cuz me and oqx can take the same bus. While we were waiting Oqx spotted Esther's sis. For goodness sake Esther couldn't even recognise her own sister at first! LOL! So i had buckets of fun yst! Can't wait to meet both groups of friends again! Separately though cuz yst was super rushed for me. Beach outing next guys! Take care of your grandma dear. So we were suppose to meet at 1 at City Hall and I was on time as usual. Jasvin came soon after. We chatted and walked around Raffles City and Marina Square while waiting for Drina and Faj. They arrived at around 2. We finally decided to walk around Arab Street and Haji Lane. I showed them the place i got my curtains and Faj showed us this shop that sold bags. She got this leather backpack for 60 bucks (from the usual 75 tt they displayed). She is horrible at haggling! But because she used my card to pay for it she paid 62 instead. We then headed to Haji Lane. Drina was looking for a sling bag to bring with her on her holiday next week. She didn't manage to get one big enough and in the end i got this gorgeous pair of berms from this quaint lil boutique. It was on sale from 65 to 32.50. FRIGGING HALF PRICE!!! I was like that is a good deal. In the end, Faj and drina to leave at 5- driving and drina meeting her friend.
I then went to Orchard to meet my mom and sis for a Paragon Metro members only sale. But while waiting for them i went to F21 Wisma and i saw a pretty tube dress and jeans that actually looked nice on me! Can't wait to get them! Metro was crowded like crazy lah. G2000 within Metro itself was having this major sale. I got a super nice blazer for 39 bucks! i mean where in the world can you get a sweet deal like there. I also got this mega bargain! 35 bucks for 2 sets of matching bra and underwear from Pierre Cardin. Excellent deal right! i know!!! Can't wait to meet the girls on Tues again. Hopefully Anje can make it this time (: Its super fun! Sunday, April 19, 2009 Y 12:48 AM DISCLAIMER: This is a rant post. If you feel like feeling better about yourself cuz now you know that someone other than yourself is also having a bad day, then go ahead and read this. I know you want to. I would to if i were having a bad day. Then i wouldn't be feeling as lousy as i am now.
Today SUCKS. Well actually yesterday sucks. I got so depressed about WKWSCI tt i started crying. i know its silly but i just felt so horrid. Its another day in my shoes, getting disappointed about another school that i want but cant get into. Honestly, i expected to react better having dealt with this kind of disappointment countless of times before. But i guess gg to the talks earlier on made me feel like shit if i dont get accepted cuz i want it bad. And when i wanted to vent my anger and play a violent game, Counter Strike, (yes, I'm old school) MY FREAKING ACCOUNT WAS DELETED!!!! And I'm on hard so its really tough!!! and its gone! I hate (for now) (ok i agree that hate is a strong word but I'm feeling like crap now so i get to use harsh words) my sibling, whoever deleted it, regardless if it was by accident or done purposely. If it was accidental, have the freaking guts to tell me and not deny it! F*** it! Gosh, my first crude, vulgarity on this blog. Saturday, April 18, 2009 Y 11:06 PM I'm feeling exhausted. I went to NTU in the morn and then later to Chinatown with my guides juniors to help them get beads. Mind you i was wearing wedges from 7.30a.m to 9p.m ok!
Had to wake up pretty early, like at 6 plus to get ready for the reception which was at 9 at NTU. Seeing how NTU was at Boon Lay and i lived in Yishun, i had to get up that early. Met Sam(antha-as in my pri school friend and neighbour) at 7.30 and we headed to NTU together. Met Faj and Marsling and then Ann at Boon Lay. At first it was a pretty awkward thing because all 3 of them were from diff groups of friends. Sam was an old friend, Faj one of my good friends and Ann a recent acquaintance tt i think is cool. But in the end, it was all good. When we reached WKWSCI it was a typical scenario of the herd mentality. Everyone was looking ard not sure where to head to, instead we were following each other to the wrong location. Finally this kind auntie who was sweeping told us to take the elevator to the LT. We had the talks etc etc. There was this professor that looked so like Spike from Buffy. Faj agreed. (and after making new friends there, we found out tt other ppl thought so too) Diana Ser addressed us. She is so goddamn pretty lah. I sorta became her momentary stalker, staring at her (even as we were taking our food during lunch). hahahahaha. We then got to eat. the food was ok. nothing great but i didn't expect the spread we got, so it was a pleasant surprise. We sat at one of the benches and made friends with a bunch of SA girls. We were suppose to go for this school tour but after seeing that not many ppl were going and how hesitant Faj and Ann were about the tour we decided to give it a miss. Faj and Sam headed home together whereas Ann and I headed to City Hall. I was waiting for my juniors and she, her SMU interview. We had coffee at Starbucks and then went to Accesorize to get a headband tt i wanted. There were two in the packaging so we shared and received one each. Rushed to meet my jnrs at City Hall mrt where i stupidly went through the turnstile. In the end we decided to take the bus from CH so i paid what, close to 2 bucks for nothing. We surveyed the shops and afterwards got some of the beads and materials they needed to make jewelry. They were kinda cute to hang out with. Granted a little childish, but ok lah. I had fun. I left at ard 8 cuz i had dinner plans. Yes, we spent abt 5 hours choosing beads and stuff. Will update more later on. Ugh I'm feeling so depressed now. Don't think tt I'll get to WKWSCI. I think everyone there did much better. Once again, I'm gonna be so disappointed when the school posting is out. Never fails to happen. I guess i should start getting used to it. Happened thrice already. What makes this any different. Yes, I am in a self wallow, pity and sorrow period. lemme get through this for a while. I'll be alright after a week max. Labels: Guides, Outings, Results/Uni, Shopping Friday, April 17, 2009 Y 4:33 PM Followed my mom to get curtain cloth yesterday. Sorry Drina and Anje for cancelling on y'all. Anyhoo, we headed to Marsling at first but most of the shops were closed so we decided to head to Arab Street to get the cloth. When we got there there was this shop with tons of different fabrics. It was awesome! Plus they were having a sale so the cloth were super cheap starting at 2 dollars per meter. We got cloths for 4 of the bedrooms in my house. spent close to $150 and tts considered a steal! i saw this gorgeous printed fabric that i wanted to get to make into a dress. should i? it was so pretty!! The uncle was a rather nice guy and i think we're gg back there to get more fabric. On our way home we bought Zam Zam's murtabak. I mean how can you go to Arab street without getting their murtabak right??? Went to Northpoint to pick up some stuff before heading home. I was so happy with the fabrics. Can't wait for my mom to finish sewing them up. (:
Ps I'm excited for tmr's WKWSCI reception. i hope i don't mess up. i really wanna go there. Tuesday, April 14, 2009 Y 11:24 PM The interview sucked! My goddamn nerves got the better of me. But that being said, i tend to think the worst of myself so we'll see when the results are out.
Anyhoo before going to the interview, I was supposed to meet Anje and Faj at Sembawang Shopping Centre at 11. but Faj had to bring her sis to the doctors so she cancelled. (i don't blame you dear) and ANJE WAS SO SO SO LATE!!! She arrived at about 1.15 lah! Considering that i had to leave at abt 2 for my interview we didn't have much time to look ard. What did i do while waiting for her? I read my book at Starbucks. Had a Caramel Macchiato. So anyways when Anje arrived we went to daiso. If i get to stay at the dorms in Uni, I'll prolly head there to get the essentials. Headed to SMU at ard 2. When i reached SMU i had to wait at the waiting room for my turn and there was this friendly cute guy. He's nice. I was like, dang it should have arrived earlier. So i talked to the him and the other girl waiting for her turn. By then i was feeling pretty nervous alr. So when my name was called, i was super fidgety. I think i rambled on and on, maybe even going off topic. Well, since its over i wont discuss bout it. After the interview, i met Andrina and we did some walking/window shopping till 8. Now i cant wait for Thurs. I'm going for SMU's interview tmr. i have to say that their school is rather efficient. I sent in my application on the 8th and they called me up today to tell me bout the interview. Ugh i just realised that I don't know what to wear. I'm not too nervous bout the interview per se, but its the whole interview process that gets to me. I know, i know what I'm rambling about makes little sense but its true. Hmm i wonder what they'll ask? I guess i have to wait for tmr to find out. The funny thing is that even if i do get accepted to SMU i may not choose to accept. BUT nothing's certain yet. I might change my mind after the interview. Will keep updating (:

I followed my mom there for the "annual monthly" groccery shopping. (Inside joke at my bimbo moment) hmm maybe its the new/novelty period, which explains my over enthusiasm for the place. hahaha. but anyhoo I'm definitely going there again to check out the stores more thoroughly. Anyone wanna come along?

It's an extremely bittersweet ending and I was crying like crazy lah. i think my maid who was beside me when i started sobbing must think that I'm a loser. but i cant help it. Labels: Movies/TV Y 1:36 PM I PIECED MY EARS AGAIN!!! wohoo!!! but i kinda chickened out on the up the ear piercing. lol. i guess it didnt hurt the first time i did the second earhole piercing bcuz it was an impulsive thingy. This time i kept contemplating over and over again. so the pain prolly was an exaggerated thing in my mind. (sounds lame i know, but its true ok!)
I pierced my ears on mon with sakino before heading to Jasvin's place for the sleepover. Sakino also added two purple streaks on her hair while we were in town. Sak and I were late because of the bloody rain that took forever to stop. But in the end we managed to meet Jas, her BF and anje sitting at coffee bean. Kevin was sweet enough to get for Jasvin Strawberry Cheescake ice cream from Marina because they didnt have it at Sembawang. I was like wow, tts impressive! so extra brownie points for Kevin (: When we reached her place, Kiwi, her dog, was already tied up but it was jumping around and it was super hyper!!!!! i think it was comparable to Joi Joi but at least Joi Joi was small (relatively) compared to Kiwi. But Jas's mom kept an eye on the dog so i felt ok. Her new place, though ulu, was gorgeous! it was spaceous and airy. I loved it! It has a modern yet homey feeling. two thumbs up for the desigh and construction! :) When all of us arrived, we decided to paint our nails. I was a noob lah! tts because i've never painted my nails. Anje was so sweet lah! she helped me paint my nails. hahha. We talked and laughed while painting nails which was fun!!! i want to do it again! then we had dinner at the rooftop. a romantic place. Then finally we had the movie/tv marathon which started with Friends. Before i knew it, it was already 4 plus lah. I got sleepy so i fell asleep. woke up early at ard 8.30. We chatted, ate and bathed and eventually left at ard 12 cuz jasvin had driving. Sak and i had time to kill before collecting our testimonial, so she decided to add more streaks in her hair. Anje and drina wanted to do tt too so we headed to Far East. Finally at ard 5 we reached innova to collect our testi and thereafter sak, drina and i had icecream at Swensons before heading home at around 6. To you girls: I love y'all and thank you Jasvin for your lovely home. will post pictures when Faj and Drina uploads them. :) Labels: Babes, Outings, Table Talks Monday, April 6, 2009 Y 1:07 AM MAN U JUST CAME BACK FROM a losing end at a 2-1 match til the 79th minute to a 3-2 win!!!! I am freaking ecstatic! take that Liverpool! Y'all scored a last minute winner too yst. Feeling sucks for your rivals huh! wohoooo!!!! Phew! was about to cry once more. I feel so so relieved!
Anyhoo, I've got a huge dilemma. (not really lah. Just exaggerating as usual :P) My fault probably. I told me mom i was about to pierce my ears again and she totally freaked out! damn! so now i dunno whether i should pierce my ears tmr or wait another day. i mean i know I'm gonna do it, but now tt she's freaking out, i may have to do it another day. The wedding earlier on was fun (unexpectedly). Natalia, my younger sis made a new buddy! haahaha. A joker like her i suppose. But there were many moments when i felt like strangling my dad, Jo and Natasha(my elder sis). long story. Anje posted the polaroids that we took at Starbucks on Thurs and boy do i like polaroids (: Initially Thurs was supposed to be a walk around the "uluated" areas. But faj was still a little sick so we couldn't do the walk thing. We ended up as usual in Starbucks where we met Jasvin and her BF, Kevin. Tt poor guy had sore eyes or smtg like tt so he kept dabbing his eyes with a piece of tissue. Overall I think we all approved of him. He seemed like a genuine person and i suppose that Jasvin's attracted to that quality. Jas had to leave earlier cuz she had a driving lesson to attend. So after she left, we headed to Raffles Place/Marina Square and City Link to do some shopping. Anje and i bought navy blue stockings from Topshop. She also got a belt from Dorothy Perkins. Faj spent $90 on this gorgeous ethnic top from Zara and Drina a shorts. We headed home at around 9.30 and bounced home. It was a lovely day with my dearest girls. ooh ooh! Anje got us bracelets from Hawaii but forgot to pass Jasvin hers. Thanks Dear! they're super pretty. Friday was spent at girl guides. They were having their promo tests and i must say tt the test was hard. hahahaha. Ps Jia en thanks for the sweet pink cupcake necklace. I'm really touched. (: Thank Jia Hui for passing it to me (: Finally got Sat to rest a little. And I'm gg to a wedding soon. After showering when i got home, i had to open the door for my brother who just got home. While i was talking to him, i heard a cat purring. So i looked out and i saw a stray cat at my doorstep! the weird part is that we live on the eighth floor! So its super duper peculiar that a cat shows up at my doorstep at 11.30P.M. I called my maid out and we started to shoo it out of the house. i didn't want to ok! but if my mom knew we let a cat in, we would be SO dead! Then that poor cat started to do adorable acts!!!ugh its so unfair tt I'm a sucker for cats lah! it gave those big eyes exactly like Puss in Boots in Shriek and rolled around on its back! i mean i just couldn't resist ): So Aunty (i call my maid tt) and I tossed a meatball at it for it to eat. I think Cat (tts what I'm gonna call it) loved it because what happened next was kinda freaky! Thank god i closed the door before the next few events. But secretly i was looking behind the curtains. It caught me staring and started purring. but i knew better than to give in once more. So i didn't do anything this time. Cat started climbing up the shoe rack and pounced on the window! that totally caught me off guard so i yelped. But then it started being cute again. This time i really knew i couldn't afford to give it another meatball so i pretended to go away. But hehehe i was looking from a different angle only.
After a while i think Cat went away. If it comes back i will definitely keep y'all updated (: Ps I'm sad tt Megan is out of AI cuz she's a great singer (though i wish she had picked better songs). Man the female contestants on AI are getting picked off one by one this season! waddya tell you bout an all male finale! (hmm lil Rounds may have a chance though :) )Anyhoo, I'm kinda tired after today's UBER fun outing with my babes. Will update bout the outing tmr. Cat eating the meatball (: Labels: Family, Freaky incidents Wednesday, April 1, 2009 Y 9:27 PM Another week coming to an end! i spent yesterday accompanying my mom to CK Tangs to pick up a voucher and then visiting my windowed aunt. It was her birthday. So we got this apple pie from a store at the Tangs Market at the basement. She's a very cheerful lady and meeting her always lightens my mood despite her situation. My mom told me that since I've been accompanying her for so many occasions that i have a new job: to accompany her when she goes out. I mean that's a darn good job cuz when i want something when we're out i pretty much can ask her for things that i want and she would (after some contemplation) agree.
Hmm today on the other hand was kinda wasted. I had to pass to my elder sis some of her stuff that she left at home. So i had to travel all the way to Boon Lay to meet her and travel all the way home cuz I'm broke after spending my allowance on paying up my library fines, tt i incurred for my library card and my parents, I'm not left with much to spend! cuz after my card hit the max fine penalty for borrowing i resorted to borrowing their cards. hehe. Gawd the fines amounted close to 30 bucks lah! and its not like I'm working so it came from my allowance cuz my mom says that she has enough of my expenses to pay. [ i kinda agree because she has to pay for my phone bill and credit card bill ;) ] So i couldn't afford to eat with her. Though she could have paid i feel bad cuz she always treats me for stuff when i stay over. (or when i say I'll pay her later but drag it and eventually don't) My evening/night was fun because i have the skating obsession currently so i kept rollerblading. Sadly, I'm an amateur though. but still, its fun!!! My younger sister is a pro and make it seem so easy! even my mom tried to skate and since she has small feet she could fit into my younger brother's. She was uber adorable lah! Speaking of busy busy week, I'm meeting drina and gang tmr and guides on fri. Boy does time fly! Especially for someone who's living on a day by day basis. (: I'm currently watching AI. I like Megan but why does she keep picking wrong songs??
